The Jewel of the Orient

If you want to get to know the Orient start with its jewel: PERSIA.

A journey back in time: safe, cultural and relaxing, only 4 and a half hours away by plane.

A visit to Iran is a unique and extraordinary experience: a unique journey into a civilisation and culture that has been influencing the world for over 2500 years (the cradle of civilisation).

A safe country where you will be able to discover what the mass media do not say; where the world’s largest and longest lasting empire was founded (Cyrus); even before this empire the Iranian territory had already enjoyed five thousand years of culture and civilisation with a territory that boasts 250 thousand open archaeological sites.

Iran covers a surface of 1,648,000 km², almost five and a half times the Italian territory. With its population of 68 million Iran is the youngest country in the world and has a high rate of literacy: 86%.

It has a big central desert plateau with an average height of over 1.000 meters with an extremely arid and dry climate in the three types of desert Kavire Lut, Kavire Namak (Kavir= both sand and rock desert; Namak = salt); with high mountain ranges represented by Mount Alborz (Damavand 5.670 meters), Zagros 4.000 metres .....etc.; to the north it faces the biggest lake in the world, the Caspian Sea and the climate is damp with luscious vegetation; to the south it faces the Persian Gulf with its coral islands and warm and damp climate.

Due to its geographical variety everyday there is a difference in temperature of at least 45 ° / 50° between the coldest and the warmest place: a country with all four seasons at a time all year round.

Not only Iran’s territory but also its population is varied: Kurds, Baluchis, Azaris, Turkomans and nomad populations like Qashquai, Bakhriari, Shahsavan, Afshari, Lurs etc.
